Much of our existing infrastructure is aging, crumbling, leaking and functionally obsolete. Previous city councils had the ambition to create new infrastructure such as a beautiful convention center, the Marty Sanchez Golf Course, the Genevieve Chavez Community Center, and the Buckman Road Transfer Station. For the last eight years we have not seen that level of ambition and therefore we find ourselves putting band aids on problems and shutting down facilities with no real plans in place.

As your next city councilor, I understand the critical importance of promoting a high quality of life by keeping our citizens active and healthy. Long term planning needs to be in place to retire old facilities and create new ones. Our parks, and recreation centers should be modern and provide recreational activities from pickle ball to bocce ball and programs and resources for children, parents, and our seniors alike. I will personally push to speed up the development of our biking and cycling trails and propose solutions to keep our roads even safer for cyclists.
